gTune: remote gimbal control
gTune is an app created by Gremsy—manufacturers of camera gimbals and stabilizers—to give users the ability to control a gimbal from their iOS device.
A clean layout and simple controls
With a very specific purpose in mind, the developers of gTune have been able to make the app interface clean and simple, making it easy to find the controls you want. That being said, there is no option to change the light blue on black color scheme, which may cause problems for some color-blind people. There are different pages for different functions, such as a settings page, a monitor page, a profiles page, and an information page. The main control page clearly shows you the tilt, roll, and pan of your gimbal, as well as related information like the delta movement of each. You can also record the movements the gimbal makes in real-time, save them, and play them back, giving you the ability to create preset movements.
Feature rich
There are several profile slots that allow users to set up different configurations and save them, making it easy to change cameras without having to go through a full setup each time a different camera is used. The app can connect to your gimbal through Bluetooth to provide a range of other functions, such as setting rotation limits, and enabling follow mode.
An effective app without competition
gTune is a capable application that runs well and does what it intends to do, but it should be noted that it is presently the only option for Gremsy gimbals. You can combine gTune with related apps to get a more complete feature set. Apps like Betaflight - Configurator—an app for flying drones—and Drone Pilot Canada—an app to assist drone pilots in adhering to Canadian regulations regarding drone flights.
